Why is holiness important in the way of salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Holiness is essential because God is holy, and the way to salvation is a reflection of His holy character.

The concept of holiness in salvation stems from the nature of God. Isaiah 35 indicates that the way of holiness cannot be traversed by the unclean. This underscores God's absolute purity and the necessity for humanity, which is inherently unclean, to be made holy to enter into His presence. The only means of achieving this holiness is through the sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ, which cleanses believers from sin. Accordingly, a holy God requires a holy salvation, and this is only achieved through faith in Christ, who is the source of our righteousness.
