Why is holy fear important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Holy fear is vital for Christians as it leads to humility and a sincere worship of God.

Holy fear is integral to the Christian life as it brings about humility before God. When we consider our position as sinners saved by grace, we cannot help but be awed by God's mercy and sovereignty. This understanding fosters a sincere love for God, as we see how His attributes manifest in our lives and in our salvation. The fear of the Lord aligns our hearts with His will, causing us to serve Him in sincerity and truth while putting away any false gods. Ultimately, it helps us to live in a manner that honors Him, stemming from the deep realization of who He is and our utter need for Him.
