Why is hope important in the Christian faith?

Answered in 1 source

Hope is foundational in Christianity as it anchors our faith and expectations in God’s promises.

Hope is a central theme in the Christian faith, acting as an anchor for the soul amidst trials and tribulations. Romans 15:13 declares, 'Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.' This hope is not wishful thinking but a confident expectation based on the character and promises of God. In dark times, hope compels the believer to wait upon the Lord, sustaining them until God’s promises are fulfilled in their lives, as noted in Hebrews 6:19.
