Why is hope in God important when we feel cast down?

Answered in 1 source

Hope in God transforms our sorrow into joy and strengthens our faith.

Hope in God is vital because it shifts our focus from our circumstances to the unchanging character of God. The psalmist, despite feeling cast down, continually encourages himself to hope in God because he knows that God is the source of strength and restoration. This hope enables us to transcend our immediate feelings of sadness and reminds us that God has a purpose even in our suffering. By placing our hope in Him, we affirm our trust in His sovereignty and goodness, which ultimately leads to spiritual peace and joy.
