Why is humility important for Christians seeking God's help?

In Psalm 34:2, David notes, 'My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.' This emphasizes that humility allows us to recognize our dependence on God and the need for His grace. Pride keeps us distant from God and makes us self-sufficient; however, genuine humility leads to a true acknowledgment of our sinfulness and need for redemption. When we come before God with a humble heart, we are more receptive to His guidance and can experience the fullness of God's grace and blessings in our lives.
