Why is humility important for pastors?

Answered in 2 sources

Humility is essential for pastors as it fosters genuine service to God and His people, mirroring Christ's example.

Humility in ministry is a reflection of Christ’s own humility and is crucial for pastors who are called to serve others. Paul demonstrated this by acknowledging his own weakness while striving to minister effectively to the churches. He served the Lord with all humility of mind, driven by a desire to glorify God and lead others to Him. When pastors exhibit humility, they create an atmosphere in which they can effectively teach, guide, and support their flock. They recognize their dependence on God’s grace and the seriousness of their calling to feed the church, purchased with Christ's own blood. Thus, humility equips pastors to handle the Word of God wisely and compassionately.
