Why is humility important in Christian life?

Humility is essential in the Christian life because it recognizes our inherent sinfulness and inability to achieve righteousness on our own. Proverbs 21:4-5 speaks to the proud heart which distorts one's understanding of spiritual reality, leading to a false sense of self-sufficiency. According to the sermon, without humility and the acknowledgment of our helplessness, we resist the fundamental truth of salvation by grace.
