Why is humility important in the use of spiritual gifts?

Answered in 1 source

Humility is important in using spiritual gifts because it ensures that we serve others for God's glory rather than our own.

The proper use of spiritual gifts is founded on a heart of humility and servanthood. According to Romans 12:6-8, each believer is given gifts according to God's grace, and these are meant to benefit the entire body of Christ. When we serve out of humility, we acknowledge that our abilities come from God and are not for self-exaltation. This attitude aligns with the way Christ served, allowing us to act in love toward one another, promote unity, and foster an environment where each member feels valued and vital. Consequently, humility in using spiritual gifts encourages a true expression of love, where we genuinely seek the welfare of others.
