Why is increasing our faith important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Increasing our faith is essential as it deepens our relationship with God and enables us to obey Him more fully.

For Christians, the continual increase of faith is vital for spiritual growth and obedience. Faith is not about having great quantities; rather, it is about the object of our faith—Jesus Christ. As Jesus explains in Luke 17:6, even faith the size of a mustard seed can accomplish great things when placed in Him. As believers grow in faith, they become more aware of their duties and more equipped to respond to God's calling in their lives. Increased faith helps us overcome obstacles such as pride and unwillingness that can hinder our relationships and spiritual service. A heart that desires greater faith reflects a deepening understanding of God’s grace, love, and sovereign purposes in our lives. In essence, as faith increases, so does our capacity to love, forgive, and serve, aligning our wills with that of our Master.
