Why is intercession by Christ important for believers?

Answered in 2 sources

Christ's intercession is vital as He advocates for us before the Father, expressing our needs and sorrows perfectly.

The intercession of Christ is a critical doctrine in the Reformed faith, emphasizing His role as our advocate before the Father. Hebrews 7:25 states, 'Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.' This means that even when we are unable to articulate our needs or express our sorrows adequately, Christ stands ready to intercede on our behalf. He understands our sufferings deeply, having experienced them Himself, and offers prayers that reflect the depth of sorrow and faith we often cannot express. This assures believers that our spiritual needs are continually being met in Christ, who pleads for us and upholds us in His grace.
