Why is intercession important in Christ's priestly role?

Answered in 1 source

Intercession is vital because Christ continually pleads on our behalf before the Father, ensuring we receive mercy and grace in our times of need.

Intercession is a central aspect of Christ's role as our Great High Priest, embodying the believer's access to God through Him. Hebrews 7:25 highlights that 'He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.' This means Jesus is actively involved in advocating for us, reminding the Father of His completed work on the cross and His perfect righteousness. When we face trials, weaknesses, or sins, we can run to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16) where we find support, reassurance, and the bolstering of faith. His intercession assures us of God’s merciful attention to our needs.
