Why is intercession important in Christian belief?

Answered in 1 source

Intercession is vital as it represents Christ's advocacy for believers before the Father, exemplified through Moses.

Intercession is a critical component of Christian theology, demonstrating both the grace of God and the role of Christ as our mediator. In Numbers 14, Moses intercedes for the Israelites when God expresses His intention to disinherit them. Moses' plea is a foreshadow of Christ's intercessory work for His people. According to Hebrews 7:25, Christ is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. This highlights the importance of recognizing that believers have an advocate before the Father, one who pleads not only for mercy but also honors God's justice. Without intercession, there would be no hope for reconciliation and forgiveness through Christ.
