Why is it a mistake to think wealthy people are happy?

Answered in 1 source

Wealth can coexist with a curse from God, leading to true misery despite outward appearances of happiness.

The perception that the wealthy or arrogant are blessed is misguided. As noted in Malachi 3:15, the prosperity of evildoers does not equate to true happiness. Wealth without saving grace is a curse that keeps individuals focused on earthly pleasures, as illustrated by the rich man in Luke 16:25, whose earthly gains brought him eternal torment. True fulfillment comes from a relationship with Christ, not from material possessions.
