Why is it dangerous to turn from the gospel to the law?

Answered in 1 source

Turning from the gospel to the law leads to bondage and condemnation, as the law cannot grant righteousness or forgiveness.

The danger of turning from the gospel to the law is vividly illustrated in Paul's letter to the Galatians. When believers forsake the grace of Christ for the yoke of the law, they forsake the very foundation of their faith, which is rooted in Christ's work on the cross. As Paul states in Galatians 3:13, Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, and to return to law-keeping is to nullify the grace that brings forgiveness and freedom from sin. Instead of receiving life, believers under the law find themselves under its curse, incapable of achieving righteousness through their own works.
