Why is it important for Christians not to conform to this world?

Answered in 1 source

Christians are called not to conform to this world because our values and purpose are rooted in Christ, not worldly ideals.

Romans 12:2 instructs believers not to be conformed to this world, which signifies a lifestyle and mindset contrary to God's will. This world, characterized by its lack of love for God and emphasis on self-reliance and works, should not mold our beliefs or actions. Instead, we are transformed by the renewing of our minds through Christ, enabling us to prove what is good and acceptable in God's sight. By living distinctly, we reflect the character of Christ and fulfill our purpose within His plan.
