Why is it important for Christians to acknowledge their helplessness?

Answered in 1 source

Acknowledging our helplessness allows us to fully rely on God's strength and grace (2 Corinthians 12:9).

For Christians, recognizing our helplessness is crucial to understanding the depth of our need for God’s grace. The Bible illustrates that we are like worms, powerless in our own strength (Isaiah 41:14), and this humility leads us to seek help from the only source capable of delivering us—God Himself. As Paul learned in 2 Corinthians 12:9, God’s power is made perfect in our weakness. This truth not only fosters a closer relationship with God but also highlights the glorious nature of grace, which is given freely to those who humbly come before Him. When we admit our inadequacy, we open ourselves to receive the strength and guidance He offers.
