Why is it important for Christians to avoid judging others?

Answered in 3 sources

Avoiding judgment is vital for Christians, as judging others often stems from pride and is contrary to the grace we all need.

Paul instructs believers in 1 Corinthians 4:6-7 to not be puffed up against one another, highlighting that pride leads to unjust judgments. When we judge others, we tend to forget our own need for grace and the fact that we share a common sinful nature. Jeremiah 9:23-24 also warns against glorying in our own wisdom or strength but encourages glorying in knowing the Lord. Instead of turning to judgment, Christians should seek to minister grace to one another, understanding that they too are recipients of God's mercy and that no one is righteous apart from Christ.
