Why is it important for Christians to be active in service until Christ returns?

Answered in 1 source

Christians are called to be active in service because His return should motivate them to fulfill their God-given responsibilities.

In light of Christ’s imminent return, Paul exhorts believers not to become idle or complacent. He emphasizes in 1 Thessalonians 5:6-8 that Christians should remain vigilant, actively participating in God's work. This includes fulfilling personal duties and engaging in service to others. When believers understand that they are awaiting Christ’s return, they are encouraged to put their faith into action rather than using His return as an excuse for inaction. Each believer is reminded that their efforts in service are meaningful and should be directed toward building up the church and spreading the gospel.
