Why is it important for Christians to be fervent in their faith?

Answered in 1 source

Fervency in faith is essential as it reflects genuine love for Christ and a commitment to His glory.

Fervent love for Christ is fundamental to the Christian experience, as seen in Revelation 3. Jesus expects His followers to fully engage with their faith, expressing a burning desire for His glory and a willingness to stand for truth. A lack of fervency can lead to complacency and indifference, making the believer unable to discern their own spiritual condition. The church in Laodicea became lukewarm because they lost sight of their first love, leading to spiritual weakness and compromise. Therefore, fervency in faith demonstrates a true and living relationship with Jesus that should be diligently cultivated.
