Why is it important for Christians to be in Christ?

The importance of being 'in Christ' is underscored throughout the New Testament as it expresses the believer's union with Christ, which ensures their status as forgiven and accepted by God. According to Romans 8:1, 'There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,' showing that our position in Christ removes the guilt and penalty of sin.
