Why is it important for Christians to be part of the church?

Answered in 1 source

Being part of the church is essential for Christians to grow in faith and fulfill their mission to share the Gospel.

The importance of belonging to the church cannot be overstated as it is the divinely ordained institution through which Christ continues His ministry on earth. The church serves as the body of Christ, where believers are gathered together to support, edify, and encourage one another in their faith journeys. Acts 2:44-47 illustrates how the early church functioned as a community of believers who shared everything in common and devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. This demonstrates that the church is not only a place for individual worship but a collective environment for spiritual growth and mutual accountability. Moreover, being part of the church enables Christians to actively participate in fulfilling the Great Commission as they hold forth the Word of life together, making an impact in their communities.
