Why is it important for Christians to be peacemakers?

Answered in 3 sources

Being peacemakers reflects God’s character and fulfills our calling to share the gospel, promoting unity within the Christian community.

Christians are called to be peacemakers as it aligns with the nature of God, who has made peace with us through Christ. As peacemakers, we actively participate in the ministry of reconciliation, working to share the message of the gospel with a lost world (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). Additionally, fostering peace within the church enhances unity among believers, allowing us to demonstrate the love and grace of God (Psalm 133:1). It reflects our identity as children of God, who are meant to emulate our Father’s character.
