Why is it important for Christians to be yoked with Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Being yoked with Christ allows believers to share their burdens with Him and to learn from His meekness and humility.

In Matthew 11:29, Jesus urges us to 'take my yoke upon you and learn of me.' This metaphor illustrates the profound connection between the believer and their Savior. A yoke signifies partnership; when we are yoked with Christ, we are not alone in our struggles. It is through this relationship that we learn from His character—meekness and lowliness—which equips and strengthens us amid life's challenges. Moreover, this union provides divine support in our labor, allowing us to lighten our burdens as we walk together with Him. The promise is that His yoke is easy and His burden is light, revealing the gracious nature of serving Him.
