Why is it important for Christians to believe in God's ability to save?

Answered in 1 source

Believing in God's ability to save is fundamental to having faith that secures salvation.

The ability of Christ to save is central to the Christian faith. Jesus Himself posed the question, 'Believe ye that I am able to do this?' (Matthew 9:28), challenging His followers to trust in His power to heal and save. Recognizing His sovereignty and capability to deliver us from sin and condemnation is crucial. Unbelief is considered a grievous sin because it effectively calls God a liar (Romans 3:4). Therefore, true faith must include the belief that Jesus is fully able to meet our needs and redeem us, which is foundational for our relationship with God.
