Why is it important for Christians to believe on Christ in times of sorrow?

Answered in 1 source

Believing on Christ in sorrow provides comfort and assurance of His presence and promises.

In moments of grief and sorrow, such as the death of a loved one, Christians are called to believe on Christ as the source of their comfort. John 11:35 illustrates Jesus' empathy, as He wept for Lazarus. This shows that He understands our pain. When we trust in Him amidst our suffering, we find solace in His promises that He is with us and that He has overcome death. The assurance of His resurrection and power to give life helps us to endure in faith, knowing our difficulties are temporary and will ultimately glorify God.
