Why is it important for Christians to comfort each other?

Answered in 2 sources

Comforting one another is important because it reflects the comfort God has given us, fostering community among believers.

In 2 Corinthians 1:4, Paul states that God comforts us in our tribulations so we can, in turn, comfort others. This mutual encouragement is not only an expression of the love of Christ but also strengthens the body of believers. As Christians endure various trials, sharing the comfort they receive from God with others promotes unity and helps bear one another's burdens. It also serves to remind us that God's grace is at work in our lives, transforming our struggles into opportunities for ministry and encouragement.
