Why is it important for Christians to confess their failures?

Answered in 1 source

Confessing failures is essential for Christians to acknowledge their dependence on Christ and to recognize their need for His grace.

In the sermon, we see the importance of confession as the disciples were asked by Jesus if they had any meat, to which they truthfully admitted they had caught nothing (John 21:5). This confession serves as a realization of their complete dependency on Christ. It teaches Christians to recognize their inability to succeed on their own and underscores the truth that without Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5). Acknowledging our failures leads to a greater appreciation of God's grace and mercy, reminding us that He provides for us even in our shortcomings.
