Why is it important for Christians to depend on Jesus?

Answered in 1 source

Christians rely on Jesus for their strength and ability to do good, as without Him, they can do nothing.

Dependence on Jesus is foundational in the believer's walk. According to John 15:5, Jesus declares, 'Without Me you can do nothing.' This is a humbling truth that reminds us that any good we accomplish comes through Him. The challenge lies in recognizing our utter helplessness without His grace. The disciples' inability to cast out the demon signifies the reality that even those closest to Jesus require His strength and guidance to fulfill their mission. Understanding our reliance on Christ fosters humility and a deeper relationship with Him, as we acknowledge our need for His grace to sustain us in every aspect of life.
