Why is it important for Christians to expect trials?

Answered in 2 sources

Expecting trials is crucial as it prepares Christians for the challenges they will face in their faith journey.

It is vital for Christians to understand that suffering and persecution are part of the Christian experience. Jesus explicitly warns His followers that they will face difficulties, stating that they must not be offended by these trials. The expectation of persecution fosters resilience and strengthens faith; it reminds believers that they are called to carry their cross in anticipation of the eternal reward. Without this awareness, many may falter when faced with adversity. Therefore, counting the cost and being prepared for tribulation is an essential aspect of following Christ and living out one’s faith authentically.
