Why is it important for Christians to experience sorrow?

Answered in 1 source

Experiencing sorrow is important as it opens us to deeper understandings of God's comfort and the beatitudes corresponding to grief.

Sorrow and struggle are not merely to be endured but are avenues through which we experience divine comfort and grace. The Bible states, 'Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted,' reminding us that there is a special blessing associated with recognizing our vulnerabilities and needs. These experiences enable us to unlock the blessings God has promised, which often remain concealed from those who have not yet faced similar trials. Embracing our sorrow helps forge a deeper relationship with Christ and enhances our ability to appreciate His promises.
