Why is it important for Christians to focus on Christ rather than the law?

Answered in 2 sources

Focusing on Christ is essential as He fulfills the law and offers true redemption, unlike the law which brings condemnation.

In the story of Elijah, his retreat to Mount Sinai symbolizes the human tendency to seek refuge in the law amidst trials. However, the Lord questions Elijah to redirect his focus back to the grace found in Christ. The law, while good, cannot offer salvation or comfort; it merely points out sin. In contrast, Christ has fulfilled the law and offers a relationship based on grace, leading believers to rely not on their works but on what Christ has accomplished for them.
