Why is it important for Christians to gather for worship?

Answered in 9 sources

Gathering for worship is important because it is where the presence of the Lord is promised and believers experience communal joy.

Christians gather for worship not only to enjoy the company of fellow believers but because the Lord promises, 'Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them' (Matthew 18:20). This assurance of His presence makes corporate worship a unique and powerful experience. Moreover, it encourages fellowship among believers and provides an opportunity for the community to be strengthened as they hear and respond to God's Word together, recognizing the work of the Spirit in their lives and the lives of others.
