Why is it important for Christians to glory in the Lord?

Answered in 2 sources

Glorifying in the Lord shifts our focus from self to Christ and acknowledges His sovereignty (2 Corinthians 10:17).

Paul instructs in 2 Corinthians 10:17, 'But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.' This reminder serves to direct our praise and acknowledgment away from personal accomplishments and back to God’s perfect work through Christ. It is essential for Christians to recognize that any good or strength originates from God, promoting humility and reliance upon Him. Our worth is not determined by our successes but through Christ's righteousness imputed to us.
