Why is it important for Christians to keep repenting?

Answered in 1 source

Continuous repentance is vital as it demonstrates a sincere and living relationship with God, reflecting true faith.

The act of repentance is not just a one-time decision; the Word of God teaches that genuine repentance is ongoing. The Apostle Paul, in Romans, emphasizes the necessity of living by faith, which includes a continual turning away from sin. Believers must continuously strive to lay aside malice, hypocrisy, and other sins, as ongoing repentance indicates a heart transformed by God. Without this continual state of repentance, one cannot claim to be genuinely saved, as a lack of such evidence calls into question one's relationship with Christ.
