Why is it important for Christians to know about the law?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding the law is essential because it reveals God's holiness and underscores our need for Christ, who perfectly fulfilled it on our behalf.

The law is a vital aspect of God's revelation, demonstrating His perfect holiness. We learn from scripture that God's law is perfect but also that we are incapable of keeping it (Romans 3:20). The law serves to show us our sinful nature, reminding us of our need for salvation. However, in Christ, who perfectly fulfilled the law, we can find our righteousness (Romans 10:4). This understanding brings us comfort and assurance, knowing that Christ has kept the law for us, allowing us to stand justified before God.
