Why is it important for Christians to know God is sovereign?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding God's sovereignty provides peace and hope, even amidst chaos and adversity.

The sovereignty of God is foundational for Christian faith, especially in turbulent times. When the psalmist declares, 'Be still and know that I am God,' it speaks to the peace that arises from acknowledging God’s supreme authority over all creation. This understanding reassures believers that, no matter how active the enemies may appear or how chaotic the world may seem, God is in control and working all things for the good of those who love Him. His sovereignty dictates that nothing happens outside of His will, which grants believers comfort and courage amidst their trials.
