Why is it important for Christians to know that dying is gain?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding that dying is gain assures believers that they will be with Christ immediately upon death.

Paul writes in Philippians 1:21 that 'to die is gain' because, for believers, death represents a departure from this world into the immediate presence of Christ. This assurance provides comfort and removes the fear of death, knowing that physical death leads to eternal fellowship with the Lord. Death is not an end, but a transition to a far better existence where sin and suffering are no longer present. For Christians, the promise of eternal life in Christ gives meaning to their current journey, as they live in anticipation of that glorious reunion with Him.
