Why is it important for Christians to labor in the gospel?

The Apostle Paul exemplifies the call to labor in the gospel, even while imprisoned. In Colossians 1:29, he speaks of his striving 'according to His working, which works in me mightily.' This illustrates that every believer is called not only to receive the grace of salvation but also to actively share it with others. By laboring in the gospel, Christians fulfill the Great Commission issued by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20, which commands us to make disciples of all nations.
