Why is it important for Christians to let peace rule in their hearts?

Answered in 1 source

Letting peace rule is vital for maintaining unity and fostering love among believers in the body of Christ.

The importance of allowing peace to govern our hearts cannot be overstated, as it establishes a foundation for unity within the Church. Colossians 3:15 highlights that peace is a call to the body of Christ, enabling believers to reflect on the immense forgiveness received from God and to practice that same forgiveness among themselves. When peace rules, it restrains our inclinations toward anger, resentment, and unforgiveness, thus promoting a spirit of cooperation and love. Without this governing peace, disputes and conflicts can arise, threatening the unity and testimony of the Church. In a society filled with turmoil, Christians are called to embody a peace that transcends understanding, demonstrating their relationship with the Prince of Peace.
