Why is it important for Christians to listen to the voice of Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Listening to the voice of Christ is crucial as it leads to true understanding of salvation and rejection of self-righteousness.

For Christians, hearing and responding to the voice of Christ is paramount, as it leads to an understanding of God's perfect plan of salvation. The voice of Christ encompasses both His direct teachings and the collective witness of Scripture that reveals Him. By recognizing Christ as the sole mediator of salvation, believers are directed away from self-righteousness and towards humble reliance on His grace. Failing to heed His voice can lead to hardening of the heart, where individuals might be tempted to seek acceptance through their own works rather than through faith in Christ’s accomplished righteousness.
