Why is it important for Christians to look to Christ?

Answered in 8 sources

Looking to Christ is vital for Christians because it is through Him that we obtain faith, strength, and the true purpose of life (Philippians 1:21).

Philippians 1:21 states, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." This encapsulates the essence of the Christian life: that all our focus, hopes, and actions should revolve around Christ. Looking to Him enables us to maintain our faith amidst trials and tribulations. When we focus on ourselves, we are prone to despair and discouragement. Instead, looking to Christ provides peace, joy, and an understanding of our identity in Him, which is essential for spiritual growth.
