Why is it important for Christians to look unto Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Looking unto Christ is vital for Christians as it brings spiritual light and assurance of salvation.

For Christians, looking unto Christ is foundational to their faith. The act of looking signifies more than mere observation; it encapsulates trust, reliance, and belief in Him as the source of life and salvation. Hebrews 12:2 encourages believers to 'fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.' In seeing Christ as the Lamb of God who has taken away our sins, we find not only forgiveness but also a model for how to navigate life’s trials. The psalms illustrate that in looking to the Lord, believers receive light, which empowers them to face challenges without shame or fear. Moreover, through Christ's resurrection, believers are reminded of the certainty of their own future hope of eternal life, encouraging them to continuously look to Him in faith.
