Why is it important for Christians to not conform to this world?

Answered in 2 sources

Christians should not conform to this world to maintain their distinctiveness and to prove what is the good and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2).

In Romans 12:2, Paul commands believers not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. This transformation is essential for discerning God’s will in their lives and living in a way that is pleasing to Him. Conformity to the world leads to a loss of identity as God’s people, hindering the witness of Christ. Instead, by seeking spiritual growth and setting their minds on things above, believers can reflect God’s glory and bear witness to His truth in an increasingly secular society.
