Why is it important for Christians to not fear?

Answered in 9 sources

It is important for Christians to not fear because they are under God's sovereign care, which assures them of His protection and oversight.

Christians are called to live without fear because of their trust in God’s sovereignty and loving care. Jesus commands His disciples to fear not in Luke 12:6-7, emphasizing that if God oversees the sparrows, He certainly looks after His children with even greater diligence. The assurance that God knows all aspects of a believer’s life invites confidence and trust. This perspective allows Christians to approach life’s challenges with courage, as they rest in the knowledge that God, who has the ultimate authority, is also their Redeemer. Thus, fear is replaced with faith, rooted in God's promises and actions towards His people.
