Why is it important for Christians to pray for healing?

Answered in 1 source

Praying for healing is an act of obedience and faith, trusting in God's power and will.

Praying for healing is commanded in James 5, where believers are encouraged to call on the elders of the church to pray for them. This practice not only acknowledges God’s sovereignty in healing but also affirms the communal aspect of faith where the church supports each other in prayer. Additionally, it reflects our dependency on God and His ability to intervene in our lives. We recognize that while God may choose not to heal, our prayers are a means of drawing closer to Him and expressing our needs.
