Why is it important for Christians to recognize Christ as our strength?

Answered in 1 source

Recognizing Christ as our strength is vital for empowering us to engage in spiritual warfare and fulfill God's purpose.

Acknowledging Christ as our strength enables us to engage effectively in the spiritual battles we face as believers. Joshua 5:14 describes Christ as the captain of the Lord’s host, illustrating that we cannot rely on our fleshly power but must depend on His might. This reliance transforms our perspective; we recognize that true strength does not come from our abilities or resources but from Christ. According to Ephesians 2:6, we have been raised with Christ and that unity empowers us in ministry. By submitting to Him as our Captain, we are equipped to do the work He has called us to without the hindrances of fleshly pride or unbelief, thus participating in His mission to call others to faith.
