Why is it important for Christians to recognize their obligation to God?

Answered in 1 source

Recognizing our obligation to God fosters gratitude and aligns our lives with His purpose.

Every man and woman, as stated in the sermon, owes God for His goodness and grace. We are all recipients of His blessings, whether we acknowledge it or not. This understanding elicits a heart of gratitude, transforming our relationship with God into one of willing service. Recognizing that we are borrowers of His kindness – our very lives, abilities, and resources – compels us to honor Him with those gifts. Failing to recognize this obligation can lead to a life lived in spiritual blindness, as noted in Revelation 3:17, where those who are self-deceived believe they are rich yet remain spiritually poor.
