Why is it important for Christians to remember Christ's finished work?

Answered in 1 source

Remembering Christ's finished work reminds us of our righteousness and hope in Him.

Recognizing Christ's finished work is of utmost importance for Christians as it centers our faith on His redemptive action. Hebrews 4:9-10 mentions that 'there remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God' because Christ's work on the cross is finished. This means we no longer need to strive for righteousness or redemption through our efforts; instead, we rest in the assurance that Christ’s sacrifice is sufficient for our salvation. Understanding this liberates us from the burdens of legalism and encourages us to live in the freedom and grace provided through Him. When we grasp the significance of His finished work, our outlook changes, allowing us to glorify God in all our actions as we acknowledge that our standing before Him is secured in Christ alone.
