Why is it important for Christians to seek Christ first?

Answered in 1 source

Seeking Christ first is essential for spiritual growth and ensures our priorities align with God's kingdom.

In Luke 10, Jesus reminds Martha that while she was preoccupied with serving, Mary chose to sit at His feet and listen to His words. This narrative illustrates the importance of prioritizing our relationship with Christ above the demands of daily life. Christians can become overwhelmed and burdened with many cares, which may hinder spiritual growth. By making Christ our one needful thing, we align ourselves with His will and gain spiritual nourishment that ultimately empowers us to serve others more effectively. The call is to seek first the kingdom of God, trusting that all other needs will be taken care of as we focus on building our relationship with Him.
