Why is it important for Christians to take refuge in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Taking refuge in Christ is essential for Christians because it protects them from the dangers of sin and God's judgment (Isaiah 32:2).

In a world full of trials and tribulations, the Christian’s refuge in Christ offers both safety from temporal dangers and assurance against eternal judgment. The acknowledgment that we are in need of a hiding place reveals an understanding of our utter dependence on God’s grace. Jesus, described as a shelter in times of storm, reminds believers that they need not rely on their efforts or reputations but rather on His finished work. This reliance cultivates a deep relationship with Him and encourages continual dependence on His strength and righteousness.
